About Me

Hello, I’m Hannah, founder and creator of The Gorge Bakehouse, I design bespoke wedding cakes and dessert tables.

My journey into patisserie and design began in Michelin-starred kitchens, where I had the privilege of learning from some truly inspiring chefs and mentors. Those years shaped not only my technical skills and appreciation for exceptional ingredients, but also my love for thoughtful details, creativity and the artistry behind beautiful food.

Wanting to deepen both my culinary knowledge and business expertise, I went on to achieve a First-Class Honours degree in Culinary Arts Management from Birmingham University, an experience that gave me the foundations to turn a long-held dream into reality. So, in 2020, during lockdown, I launched The Gorge Bakehouse with simple doorstep deliveries designed to bring a little joy during uncertain times. What began as small boxes of comfort has naturally evolved into creating elegant wedding cakes and curated dessert tables for celebrations across Somerset and beyond.

Today, my focus is on designing pieces that feel personal, refined and genuinely memorable, balancing beautiful aesthetics with flavours that people talk about long after the last slice has gone.

For me, this has never been just about cake. It’s about creating something meaningful for some of life’s most special moments and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of them.
